ATTILA THE STOCKBROKER
Launched into public consciousness by legendary Radio One DJ John Peel in 1982/83, he has spent 35 years touring the world as a self sustaining DIY one man cottage industry, performing in 24 countries and releasing 40 LPs/EPs/CDs and 7 books of poetry.
Rising from the ashes of Now Wave electronic punk sensation The Duel, alt punk queen Tara Rez is reborn in the detritus of 21st century Britain.
She fits squarely into punk avant-garde, along with artists like The Slits and Patti Smith who challenged masculine assumptions of the genre.
With her new line up of well-proven talent, this band is much more than your run of the mill eclectic rock.
There’s an underlying current that flows ..
‘Think for yourself, be yourself, create your own rules, live your own life,’ she says. ‘Punk will alter reality and change someone’s life.’
KARL PHILIPS & THE REJECTS.
A completely original mashup of ska, punk & grime with a hip-hop nod at luminaries like The Clash, The Specials & Mike Skinner. Karl’s refreshingly honest lyrics test the boundaries of the human mind and the English etiquette, coming from a place most people can relate to but never dared to mention!
New single ‘Plastic Gangsta’ got its Exclusive first play on BBC Radio 1!
The Acoustic Den includes several local acts and speakers from Hope Not Hate, Unite the Union, The Labour Party, CND, JVL & Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
