KENNY THOMAS: BEHIND THE GROOVE:

The iconic UK soul-singer and musician, Kenny Thomas announces his much-anticipated ‘Behind The Groove’ club night, which for the very first time in his remarkable career, sees him curate his very own unique club-show, bringing together the best soulful DJ’s alongside guest acts of which the Northampton date will feature local singer/ songwriter Maddox Jones . Kenny will be headlining the evening with his A-list bands, performing all his greatest hits and fan favourites.

Kenny Thomas remains one of the most important and successful UK soul icons of his generation, with his debut album ‘Voices’ selling 600,000 copies in the first two weeks alone (double platinum) in 1991, achieving a total of 8 Top 40 singles and 2 Top 10 records whilst picking up 2 x BRIT-Award Nominations for ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and ‘Best Newcomer’.

Commenting on the launch, Thomas says “This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while now, so it’s with great excitement I’m bringing some remarkable talent together for a night to celebrate soul music, music memories and good vibes.“

This unmissable summer party ‘Behind the Groove’  takes place on Friday 20th September and comes off the back of Kenny’s completely sold-out UK tour in 2023 and 2024, so if you’re wanting to hear and celebrate the very best of RnB, Funk and Soul, then this night is for you.

Maddox Jones is a singer songwriter from Northampton. Growing up in a commune with no television or much access to the outside world led to him picking up a guitar and writing songs from the age of 7. “Music has always been an escape for me, a way to make sense of the world.” Now much older and ‘a little bit wiser’ Maddox is enjoying his most prolific years as a writer and artist.
